Cold-pressed plum oil is a fast-absorbing oil that does not leave the skin greasy. Plum kernels, which are the raw material of plum oil, give it a slight almond fragrance. The oil can be applied directly from the bottle to the skin, hair, and nails. Regular use of plum oil helps relieve symptoms of dryness, itching, flaking, and irritation.
Due to its high vitamin E content, plum oil is a suitable component in antiaging creams and serums. Vitamin E supports the skin's protective function by slowing and preventing free radical damage, which can help reduce the visible signs of aging such as wrinkles, sagging textures, and loss of radiance.
Due to its non-comedogenic properties, this oil is also suitable for use in products for acne-prone or oily skin.
High oleic acid content – richly moisturizing, helps keep skin soft and smooth and supports barrier function
High vitamin E content – antioxidant protection against free radicals, extends the shelf life of finished products
Soothing – helps relieve dryness and is suitable for easily irritated skin
Smoothes the skin surface – helps skin appear firmer and smoother
Anti-aging – reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Does not clog pores – suitable for problematic and oily skin due to low comedogenicity
Delicate almond-like aroma
Oleic acid (71%) is an Omega-9 fatty acid that deeply moisturizes the skin, helps keep it soft and smooth, and supports the skin's barrier function. It is especially suitable for dry, rough, and aging skin, and gives the rich, yet non-heavy feel of plum oil.
Linolenic acid (20%) is an Omega-3 fatty acid that soothes the skin, helps reduce the appearance of redness and irritation, and is suitable for easily irritated skin. The relatively high proportion, combined with oleic acid, gives plum oil a broader skin-soothing effect than most oleic acid-dominant oils.
Palmitic acid (5.5%) forms a protective layer on the skin and gives the soap hardness and creamy lather.
Stearic acid (2.5%) helps retain moisture in the skin and leaves it soft.
Palmitoleic acid (1%) is an Omega-7 fatty acid that helps reduce water loss and is similar to fatty acids naturally found in the skin.
Vitamin E – Plum oil has a remarkably high content of vitamin E (tocopherol), which gives it strong antioxidant properties. Vitamin E helps protect the skin from free radicals and contributes to the good stability of the oil. This makes plum oil a suitable ingredient in serums and creams that reduce the signs of aging.
Plum oil is suitable for dry, normal, sensitive and aging skin. Due to its low comedogenicity, it is also suitable for recipes for oily or problem-prone skin.
Facial oils and anti-aging serums - can be used at 30–100% concentration and blended with other active oils like rosehip or sea buckthorn. Thanks to their high vitamin E content, they’re a natural go-to for anti-aging facial treatments.
Eye serums and creams – the combination of high oleic acid and vitamin E makes it suitable for use around the eye area. Use 5–15% of the product amount.
Nail and cuticle care – apply directly to nails and cuticles to soften and condition. Helps keep nails and cuticles well-groomed.
In cold-process soaps, plum oil provides conditioning and skin-softening properties due to its high oleic acid content. It creates a creamy, small-bubble lather. Combine with coconut oil or other oils high in lauric acid to improve lather. Recommended use is no more than 10-20% of the total fat volume.
