DHA self-tanner is a skin-friendly and harmless product that does not require sunlight for activation. It is a product made from wheat and rapeseed based on fermentation. Skin discoloration is visible within a few hours of applying the cream and lasts for 3-7 days. The brown complexion gradually dissipates with the removal of dead cells. The intensity of the brown shade depends on the number of applications and the concentration of DHA in the product.

Using a self-tanner

Self-tanner can be used as an active ingredient in creams containing water. Add the self-tanner to the cream during the cooling phase. The temperature must be below 40 ° C. Dosage of 1.5-5% makes the skin more tanned, and 5-10% gives a brown color. The product is stable at pH 4.5-6.5. At the maximum dosage, it is worth reducing the amount of liquid in the cream recipe by 5 g/100 g.

DHA is very sensitive to different cream ingredients. The product is incompatible among others, with mineral pigments, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, aloe vera, Cocamidopropyl betaine, magnesium stearate, anionic emulsifiers, collagen, urea derivatives, amino acids, and proteins.

INCI: Dihydroxyacetone (and) Aqua.

Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light.

You can also mix this substance into the finished cream!

Use creams that are quickly absorbed and on the liquid side. The cream must definitely contain water (Aqua is first in the list of ingredients).

Use creams with a pH between 4.5-6.5. Exfoliating creams (containing AHA or BHA acids), vitamin C-containing creams and also some retinol-containing creams generally have a lower pH than the above.

Weigh the amount of cream and add 1-5 g for every 100 g of cream. Since the creams have very different compositions, you can't rely on milliliter measurements here. Mix the product well so that the browning agent is evenly mixed. It is advisable to prepare a rather small amount at a time (maximum for a week), because adding new substances can also affect the shelf life of the cream.
