Apricot Kernel Oil in Cosmetics
Apricot kernel oil is very light and quickly absorbing. It is suitable for massage oil and oil-based products (creams and ointments) where fast absorption is important.
Oleic acid is the most abundant fatty acid in apricot kernel oil. Oleic acid moisturizes, supports skin renewal and soothes sunburned areas Linoleic acid is moisturizing and anti-flaking. Thanks to these properties, the oil is especially suitable for aging and dry skin
People with problematic facial skin can safely use apricot kernel oil, because the comedogenicity indicator is only 1-2 on a 4-point scale.
Apricot kernel oil is similar in properties to sweet almond oil, but is even lighter. To preserve the best properties, apricot kernel oil is recommended to be stored at a temperature below 20 degrees.
