Apricot kernel oil is very light and quickly absorbed and is well suited for massage oil and oil-based products (creams and ointments) where fast absorption is important. Omega-9 fatty acid (oleic acid) forms the majority of apricot kernel oil. It is skin softening, supports skin regeneration and soothes sunburned skin. It also helps heal skin cracks. The properties of the oil are complemented by linoleic acid, an Omega-6 fatty acid that helps reduce skin flaking. Thanks to these properties, the oil is especially suitable for aging and dry skin
Apricot kernel oil can also be safely used by people with problematic facial skin, because the comedogenicity indicator is only 1-2 on a 4-point scale. However, due to the high oleic acid content, the oil may not be suitable for acne-prone and oily skin, as it promotes sebum production. Apricot kernel oil is similarsweet alomond oil, but is even lighter than the latter and contains more vitamin E. To preserve the best properties, it is recommended store apricot kernel oil at a temperature below 20 degrees.
