Vegetable Emulsifier
Unit price: €5.10 / 100 g
The plant-based emulsifier is a natural alternative to BTMS. It's a blend made from cetearyl alcohol, lecithin, sodium cetearyl sulfate, and vegetable oil. This emulsifier, which does not include a cationic component, provides a conditioning effect. It can be used in all types of leave-in and rinse-off hair and skincare products.
Although the main advantage of this emulsifier is its conditioning properties, it is a versatile emulsifier, suitable for use not only in hair care products but also in hand and face creams, as well as other products containing emulsifiers. It is an oil-in-water emuslifier, approved for use in natural and organic products.
Description
How to use
The recommended dosage is 5-10%. It can be added to both the water phase and oil phase.
The manufacturer recommends adding it to the water phase in hair care products to enhance the product's conditioning properties. For use, the water is heated to 70-75°C, and then the emulsifier is added and heated in a water bath until melted. Afterward, the mixture is stirred vigorously until emulsification occurs.
As the product is self-emulsifying, it can also be used to create oil-free conditioners.
Second method can be used for various creams and lotions. In this approach, the oil phase is heated in one container, and the water phase in another, each to 70-75°C, before being emulsified together.
The emulsifier appears as brownish-yellow granules, which can influence the color of the final product.
