Sweet almond oil is one of the most widely used cosmetic vegetable oils. The oil is practically odorless and does not interfere with the use of fragrances in the product. Also, the light color of the oil does not affect the appearance of the cosmetic product being manufactured.
Sweet almond oil can be used as a base oil in body scrubs, body butters, and lip balms.
Sweet almond oil contains over 60% oleic acid, which belongs to the Omega-9 fatty acid group. Oleic acid helps maintain supple and soft skin and helps smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Linoleic acid, which is part of the Omega-6 fatty acids, supports scar healing and helps retain moisture in the skin and hair.
