Stabilo candle wick
Stabilo candle wick is a coreless and flat cotton braided wick wrapped in rigid paper. This wick has been developed specifically for natural wax candles. The wick has a metal base that helps to fix the candle wick when pouring and keeps it upright.
To choose a suitable wick, you need to know the diameter of the candle. Before making a large quantity of candles, we always recommend testing the suitability of the wick. The instructions given here are for guidance only.
The length of the wick is 10 cm.
Description
Choosing a Wick
- A wick that is too thick melts more wax than the candle can burn. As a result, the candle starts to smoke and drip.
- If the wick is too thin, a tunnel will form in the middle of the candle and the edges will not burn.
- If the candle contains a lot of color or fragrance, the burning is not as efficient, and the candle wick must be a little thicker. If the candle glass is tapered at the top, the temperature inside the glass is higher during burning, and the wick must be thinner.
The test results of candle wicks with NatureWaxC3 soy wax are as follows:
Stabilo 8 is suitable for soy wax candles with a diameter of 4-5 cm.
Stabilo 14 is suitable for soy wax candles with a diameter of 5-6 cm.
Stabilo 16 is suitable for soy wax candles with a diameter of 5.5-6.5 cm.
Stabilo 18 is suitable for soy wax candles with a diameter of 6-7 cm.
Stabilo 20 is suitable for soy wax candles with a diameter of 6.5-7.5 cm.
Stabilo 24 is suitable for soy wax candles with a diameter of 7-8 cm.
The package contains 30 candle wicks, each with a length of 10 cm. You can choose the appropriate thickness from the drop-down menu.
