Lotion Bar with Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter
Rubbing between the hands melts the right amount of moisturizing fats and protective beeswax from the solid lotion bar to protect and nourish the hands.
You will need:
- 30 g cocoa butter
- 30 g shea butter
- 30 g beeswax
- Maximum 20 drops (1 ml) of fragrance oil or essential oil
- A silicone mold to shape the bars
- A jar to store lotion bars
- A glass jar and melting pot
How to make:
1. Weigh the shea butter, beeswax, and cocoa butter into a glass jar.
2. Heat in a water bath until all components have melted. The mixture should be transparent.
3. If desired, add fragrance before pouring it into the mold.
4. Pour into the mold and let it harden.
5. Remove the fully hardened cream pieces from the mold and store in a jar.
In the summer and indoors, this lotion bar is a bit softer, outside in the cold it is harder. If you want a softer cream, add a little less beeswax.
How to use:
Rub the cream piece between your hands. The piece warms under the influence of body heat, and fats and oils are absorbed into the skin.
